Program Overview

Each day will begin with 2 plenary talks on complementary topics, addressed to the entire conference. These talks are followed by two parallel sessions in separate halls that follow themes of the two morning plenary talks.

Ample time is allotted for lunch to foster collaboration and discussions.

The themes of the sessions will be organized as follows.

Presentation Formats

Plenary Speakers (45 minutes) will kick off the morning
Invited Talks (30 minutes) and Contributed Talks (20 minutes) will be presented in two breakout sessions
Posters will be shown Tuesday and Thursday evenings with casual dinner

Poster Competition - Sponsored by Elsevier

The best student / postdoc posters for each poster session will be awarded a prize of €1000.
You must apply at registration to participate in the competition.

The ELSPEC Student Awards have been created as a part of the Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena’s ambition to engage with young researchers and support them in attending relevant conferences in the field.

This award is given out on a yearly basis in two categories:

1. Student Award in atomic, molecular and optical physics
2. Student Award in condensed matter physics

The prizes will be awarded at relevant conferences – this year during ICESS-16 – on the basis of information provided to the Awards Committee. They consist of a certificate and a cash prize of EUR 1,000 to each awardee.

All students are encouraged to participate!
